kWh Token

First used: 2026

Definition

An energy-denominated monetary primitive in which the kilowatt-hour serves as the universal token of potential work. Money supply grows only when energy is actually produced, tying nominal expansion directly to a civilization's capacity for computation, manufacturing, transportation, and cognition. Proposed as a structural defense against the markup-on-permission gap that current AI economics depends on.
